The pair used chiral ferromagnetic liquid crystal colloids for the medium, formed from magnetic nanoplates with spontaneous long-range ferromagnetic ordering in a nematic fluid host. They modelled the chiral ferromagnetic fluid using the same theory that describes its solid counterpart, but with a larger scale. A great advantage of the fluid system is that it can be mapped using direct 3D optical imaging, which was crucial for reconstructing the spatial pattern of the twisted magnetization and confirming that the complicated topology of the hopfion had been realized.
Our ergonomic crutches have an attractive design, available in five different colors: green, yellow, orange, black and silver. The crutch can be adjusted to different lengths to suit all users. Let's Twist again has been awarded the "Red Dot Design Award" for its beautiful design.
Let's Twist Again
The idea of making a glass-like, sea-inspired sculpture using abaca and epoxy took me over three years to perfect. The aqua color is pigmented Abaca, the strongest fiber in the world and identified by the United Nations as a future fiber due to its organic quality and sustainability. I mixed the abaca into epoxy which I then twisted into a shape reminiscent of ocean waves to create a maintenance-free substrate that can be installed in home or office.
When I am out-and-about doing out-and-about research tasks, though, they can involve lots of full spectrum movements. I will turn, twist, scan and reach out. I am looking to see who or what is behind me, what is in my peripheral vision, and interacting with a three-dimensional world. So again I can think about how to bring that into my desk-bound experiences.
If I only have time for a quick break, I stretch my arms out wide to the side, and bend side to side; and then twist around. I find it helps to lead with your eyes: so look up and around, moving your eyes and even your head. These give me lateral and rotational stretches for my arms, shoulders, back, neck and eyes.
I start by simply by stretching both hands above my head. I keep my arms long and straight, stretching towards the ceiling. Can you bring your arms a little bit closer together, maybe even get your palms to touch? I count to 20 seconds, and then shake my shoulders and arms out. You can add this overhead stretch to the lateral and rotational twists as well.
The book I am editing is called Writing Well and Being Well for Your PhD and Beyond: How to Cultivate a Strong and Sustainable Writing Practice for Life part of the Wellbeing and Self-care in Higher Education: Embracing Positive Solutions series. If you are interested to hear more about the book, I previewed three sections from the book in this conversation with the series editor Associate Professor Narelle Lemon: you can watch again on YouTube or listen to the podcast.
After making a delivery to the offices of one of Fry and Bender's favorite TV shows, The Scary Door, the Planet Express crew find themselves transported to a parallel dimension of sight and sound, talking dolls, and roadside diners and dates with Death and a lot of ironic plot twists! Will they ever escape? Ironically, not until they make plans to stay![1]
Card devices, which are often carried in wallets or pockets, require internal components that can withstand bending and twisting. Slim lithium-ion batteries are used in such devices, but these batteries can degrade when they are bent or twisted, resulting in shorter operating time for the devices.
According to Panasonic, the new battery can withstand this bending and twisting. When used in card devices such as smart cards and card keys that work on batteries, as well as body worn devices and smart clothing, this battery can retain its characteristics.
The battery has demonstrated that it retains its characteristics during bending and twisting tests. This battery can maintain more than 99% of its initial capacity after 1,000 bends with a radius of 25mm, or after twisted 1,000 times with an angle 25/100mm, thanks to a newly developed laminated outer layer and newly developed internal structure.
The design hinges upon the photoisomerization of an azobenzene group, which can be switched between cis and trans configurations when exposed to either ultraviolet or visible light. The resulting change in molecular geometry causes two porphyrin paddles to pivot around a central ferrocene unit, translating this twisting motion to a rotor-like molecule that is sandwiched between them.

Twist capsules are available in a wide range of sizes and capacities. Whilethere is a range of semi-standard products, twist capsules are usuallyengineered to suit a specific application and customers are invited to contactIDM Electronics with details of their requirements.
Gentle, open twists that do not compress the belly, or work too deeply into the lower spine, but instead, focus on mobilising the upper part of the spine, are safe and beneficial during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. 2ff7e9595c
